Saving the Current View

You may wish to capture screenshots of a scene for use in presentations or on web pages, etc. You can do so by saving your current view at any time.

To save the current view:

  1. Arrange the scene so that the viewing area displays the view you want to save.
  2. Select File > Export > Save Current View.

The ‘Save As’ dialog is displayed.

  3. Navigate to a location for the saved image and enter a name in the File name box.
  4. From the drop-down list labelled ‘Save as type’, select the appropriate file format to save to and click Save.

The ‘File settings’ dialog is displayed.

  5. Select one of the three Image Size options:
    • Screen size – matches your screen settings.
    • Standard size – select from the adjacent drop-down list of standard sizes and aspect ratios.
    • Custom size – enter custom dimensions and then select one of the three aspect ratios, which define the relationship between the height and width of the image: Free aspect, Lock aspect ratio to 4:3, Lock aspect ratio to 16:9.
  6. If you are saving as a JPEG, you can also define ‘Quality Settings’ for the image. Use the drop-down list or slider control in the top portion of the dialogue box to choose one of the four settings (Maximum, High, Medium, Low).
  7. Click OK.
